A gasless transaction doesn’t mean there’s literally no cost to process it — it just means you don’t have to pay that fee yourself. Instead, someone else covers it for you.
Here’s the basic flow:
1) You sign the transaction
– You still approve the action with your wallet (so security is intact), but you don’t attach gas funds.
2) A “relayer” steps in.
So in short:
You sign → relayer pays gas → transaction goes through → you save your SOL/ETH.
- Wormhole Settlement Integration
As part of our major Solana routing upgrade, we’ve integrated Wormhole Settlement, a next-generation suite of intents protocols enabling fast, multichain transfers for institutional-scale volume and chain abstraction.
Its primary route, Mayan Swift, leverages fast off-chain auctions among a curated set of solvers to achieve low-latency bridging with minimal slippage.
Key Features
- Intent-based architecture: Users express what they want to happen (e.g., swap X for Y on chain Z), and solvers execute it.
- Solver auctions: Solvers compete in on-chain auctions for the right to fulfill intents, improving execution quality.
- Fast and fallback-capable: Combines high-speed execution with a reliable fallback path.
- Minimal slippage: Settlement abstracts away complex balancing operations and uses shuttle assets like USDC and tokens deployed via NTT.
- On-chain verifiability: Even though auctions are off-chain, all settlement steps remain verifiable on-chain via Wormhole messages.
Rubic’s integration with Wormhole supports cross-chain swaps to and from Solana with some of the biggest ecosystems out there — including Ethereum, Arbitrum, Avalanche, Base, Optimism, Polygon, and Unichain. That’s a wide net, especially for users who want to move between Solana and the broader EVM world without extra steps.
